MEASUREMENTS

This is what students are learning about how to measure objects. Ask your first grader what this chart is about. Also, feel free to have a math talk with your child while measuring different things at home, e.g., pans, jars, shoe boxes, etc. Ask him/her to compare objects, measure them with different units, estimate. Problem solving might be involved too. E.g., To fill this jar you need 3 cups of water. How many cups of water will you need to fill 5 jars?
